Warm and Nutty Breakfast Couscous

Full of good carbs and protein rich seeds and nuts, this breakfast couscous is sweetened with ground cinnamon and maple syrup and is a great alternative to porridge. Makes for a perfect way to start your day.

 

 

Using Alexandra’s Israeli Couscous

 

Ingredients:
 

1/2 cup Alexandra's Israeli Couscous

1/2 cup chopped mixed unsalted nuts: equal parts almonds, pecans, pistachios and walnuts (or anything you have on hand!)

2 Tbsp unsalted sunflower seeds

2-3 pinches cinnamon

3 Tbsp pure maple syrup, plus extra for serving

 

 

Method:
  1. In a small pan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil and add the couscous

  2. Remove from the heat for 5 minutes

  3. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well

  4. Drizzle each serving with a little extra maple syrup if desired
